Laggan Bay Distillery
Laggan Bay is Islay's 12th whisky distillery, a joint project between Ian Macleod Distillers and a group known as "The Islay Boys." Plans were revealed jointly at Islay's Fèis Ìle festival in May 2024, with construction targeting completion in 2025. As of April 2026, the distillery is in its construction and early production phase; no website, tours, or retail shop are yet publicly available.
Ian Macleod Distillers is the Broxburn-based independent spirits company behind Glengoyne and Tamdhu distilleries. The Islay Boys bring local island knowledge and community connection to the project. The distillery features wetlands for liquid waste management and commitments to renewable energy through the Islay Energy Trust and Scottish Power.
