Powerscourt Distillery is a premium Irish whiskey producer set within the historic Powerscourt Estate in Enniskerry, County Wicklow — one of Ireland's most celebrated heritage estates, located south of Dublin in the Wicklow Mountains. All whiskeys are released under the Fercullen brand, named after the ancient kingdom that once encompassed the Powerscourt lands. The distillery positions itself as a grain-to-glass experience offering "an estate and distillery of rare character." In March 2025, Fercullen 15 Year Old Single Grain was named World's Best Grain Whiskey at the World Whiskies Awards.

History
Powerscourt Distillery was founded in 2018 on the grounds of the Powerscourt Estate, a landmark property featuring one of Ireland's most famous gardens, a Victorian-era mansion, and extensive parkland in the Wicklow Mountains. The estate's historic associations and scenic grandeur were central to the distillery's premium positioning from the outset.
The Fercullen range was built by drawing on aged whiskey stocks matured prior to the distillery's founding, enabling the release of aged expressions — including the 21 Year Old Single Malt and the 15 Year Old Single Grain — well ahead of what would be possible from a purely new-make operation. The 2025 award for Fercullen 15 Year Old Single Grain at the World Whiskies Awards marked a significant international validation of the programme.
Production
Powerscourt Distillery produces Irish whiskey and gin on the Powerscourt Estate. The Fercullen range spans multiple styles: blended Irish whiskey (Fercullen Falls Small Batch Blend), blended malt (Fercullen The Gates), single malt, and single grain. The aged expressions — 15 Year Old Single Grain and 21 Year Old Single Malt — use whiskey stocks matured prior to the distillery's operational start. A Cask Estate programme allows premium customers to own their own Fercullen cask.
