Elsham Wold Distillery

Elsham Wold Distillery Ltd was incorporated on 12 October 2019 (Companies House No. 12259043), establishing the legal entity behind the project. Whisky distillation commenced in summer 2020 with the first casks laid down at that point, starting the mandatory three-year clock. The site's heritage as RAF Elsham Wold — a Lincolnshire bomber base of the Second World War — gives the distillery a distinctive identity, with the "Flarepath" name used for the cask ownership club being a deliberate nod to the illuminated runway paths that guided returning aircraft.

The inaugural Elsham Wold Single Malt was released in October 2023, matured since summer 2020, and sold out within 24 hours of going on sale — a testament to the growing appetite for English single malt and the distillery's careful pre-launch positioning. Subsequent releases followed in different cask finishes: PX Sherry for the first release, English rum for the second, and port for the third. The distillery supplies exclusive bars and Michelin-starred restaurants alongside direct retail. A Flarepath Cask Club allows investors to own maturing casks at the distillery.

Elsham Wold produces English single malt whisky from locally sourced barley grown on Lincolnshire Wolds farms. Water is drawn from local sources. Whisky is matured in oak casks on site, with releases presenting different cask finishes across the range. The Edwards 1902 Vodka range is produced from locally grown King Edward potatoes, emphasising the same local provenance philosophy. A cask ownership programme (Flarepath Cask Club) allows investors to purchase individual maturing casks. No public tours are currently offered.

Elsham Wold Single Malt is produced in small batches with an emphasis on cask selection and variety. The first release was finished in PX Sherry casks, delivering rich dried fruit sweetness with a clean English grain backbone. The second release introduced English rum cask finish — tropical and lighter, reflecting the character of the cask. The third used port cask finishing, adding red fruit richness. Edwards 1902 Classic English Vodka is crafted from locally grown King Edward potatoes, prized for its creamy texture and smoothness. Extended vodka expressions include English Rhubarb Vodka, Cold Brew Coffee Vodka Liqueur, and Handpicked Elderflower Vodka Liqueur.

No public tours are currently confirmed at Elsham Wold. The Flarepath Cask Club provides cask owner engagement opportunities. Products are available via the online shop at elshamwolddistillery.co.uk and through a specialist stockist network including exclusive bars and Michelin-starred restaurants.
